About CGGC

CGGC is a professional members group of contemporary jewellery designer-makers, based across the North of Wales CGGC – Constitution

CGGC was established formally in 2013 in order to provide a support network for jewellers and silversmiths in the North Wales area. Networking activities include sharing tools, ideas, and knowledge, planning training courses with each other and taking advantage of larger exhibition and marketing opportunities. Some members are recent graduates and benefit from meeting with more experienced members of the group. CGGC actively seek new members from other exhibitions, craft fairs and by word of mouth. If you are a professional jeweller creating design led work or a recent graduate and would like to make an application for membership please contact the membership co-ordinator for further details on membership@nwjc.co.uk

Following a successful group exhibition in 2009 at Oriel Parc Glynllifon, CGGC members began meeting on an informal basis.

In 2012, CGGC along with jewellers from South Wales, exhibited as ACJ Wales (The Association for Contemporary Jewellery) at Oriel Ynys Môn, Llangefni in Anglesey. This Christmas exhibition ‘Sparkle | Disglair’ was extremely well received and this was the success needed to move CGGC onto a formal footing in 2013.

CGGC have created links with jewellery groups in other regions with possible collaborations in mind, to date we have worked with members of ACJ Wales (Association for Contemporary Jewellery Wales) and plan to collaborate with MJN (Manchester Jewellers Network).

CGGC would like to thank the Arts Council of Wales for the funding they received to create this website and launch the group officially at The National Eisteddfod of Wales, Denbighshire where 9 members of CGGC created a temporary exhibition, creating a unique opportunity to talk to the makers and buy beautifully handcrafted work direct.
